Archetype 21: The Champion

Courage + Love = Valor
When I consider this, the archetype that immediately springs to mind is that of: The Champion
The TRUE Authority that is called upon in times of deepest need: when what is needed most extends beyond the recklessness of courage or the empathy of love. When what is needed is the marriage of those two “opposing” strengths.
To me, that is represented by the Valor of a Champion.
A quiet force behind the scenes until the time of deeper need; the one who STEPS UP + is SEEN without the typical egoic need to be revered.
This kind of reminds me of the 5th Line, too: the General in the fields; an unassuming force until called forward in a time of need.
Examples:
Leonidas from ‘300.’
Russell Crowe’s character in ‘Gladiator.’
Aragorn from ‘Lord of the Rings.’
