Equinox New Moon by Alison Dhuanna

This blog synthesise Astrology and Gene Keys. The Gene Keys is a powerful system to open up the pathways of acceptance in ourselves through deep contemplation and bringing the qualities of tenderness and patience into everyday life.

The New Moon this month takes place just 49 minutes after the Equinox. The Sun begins its journey once more through the zodiac in Aries, and so this is a time to perceive the seed energies for the year cycle ahead.

The New Moon takes place in Gene Key 25.3 moving from Constriction to Acceptance to Universal Love. In a time of so much fear and chaos on our planet it is natural to feel constriction. Every time we feel insecure our natural reaction is to contract, like a sea anemone. The Line 3 is all about movement and humour offering us perhaps many pathways out of constricted feelings and situations where we feel stuck. This energy also helps us respond from a more compassionate place to larger issues such as the refugee crisis. Saturn moving into Pisces in March can also help to soften constriction this year.

There are a number of interesting Asteroids and Kuiper Belt Objects conjunct the New Moon which add flavour to its meaning.

Minerva is the ancient Goddess of Wisdom, originally connected with the Etruscan civilisation in Italy. She is similar as an archetype to Pallas Athena, but tends more towards creativity as a way of channelling human competition – my pottery is better than your pottery, rather than going to war.

Metis is the Mother of Pallas Athena/Minerva so here we have the potential reuniting of the mother and daughter who perhaps favoured her father (as Pallas did) and dishonoured her mother. Metis is pretty much invisible in the mythical stories but she is actually highly creative. She saves her daughters’ life by being swallowed alive with Pallas by her Father Zeus. She also orchestrates the birth by creating a lot of clanging and giving Zeus a massive headache. Vulcan is instructed to cut open the top of Zeus’s head so Pallas can be born.

It is therefore even more intriguing that Vulcan the Blacksmith is also conjunct the New Moon – a precision piece of storytelling in the stars.

As well as mother/daughter healing and father/daughter healing, the archetypal stories suggest the birth of Feminine Wisdom at a higher octave in the cycle ahead.

There are also two modern book characters present in the conjunction as Trans-Neptunian Objects (TNO’s). Firstly Manwe who is a Tolkien character from the Silmarillion and a Creator deity. The second is Borasisi a Solar deity on whom a whole phony religion is based. Borasisi comes from the 1963 novel ‘Cats Cradle’ by Kurt Vonnegut. The religion Borasisi creates is especially good at making up deceptions to keep people suspended in fantasy and false happiness.

I’m feeling that having two human created ‘gods’ is significant. Perhaps along the way all these myths were created by humans and in essence I feel Manwe and Borasisi show us that we are co-creators of the story that lies ahead rather than mere pawns.

It is interesting then also that Goddess Asteroid Ceres lies directly opposite the New Moon at 00 Libra 19’ in Gene Key 46.3 moving from the Shadow of Seriousness into the Gift of Delight and the Siddhi of Ecstasy. Ceres as a mythical archetype brings the gods down from Mount Olympus a rung or two because she threatens to destroy the Earth. Her essential bargaining chip to get her daughter back is is this: ‘no humans, no gods’. Zeus and Hades are forced to admit the truth of this and so Hermes is sent to collect Proserpina/Persephone from the Underworld.

Another body who has come to me strongly this week is Asteroid Maia, the eldest of the Seven Sisters and the breaker of the illusion or Maya. She is as it happens is also the mother of Hermes, and without his knowledge and wisdom perhaps this perceptual breaking free that needs to happen would not be possible.

So the key words I would like to offer for this New Moon and the year ahead are seeing through the Maya.

Jupiter, Chiron, Vesta the Priestess and Astraea the Sacred Artist have been conjunct in the 25th Gene Key for much of March and are now moving into the 51 codon called Arousing the Forces of Thunder in the i Ching. This Gene Key is all about Initiation so expect some big breakthrough energies to emerge individually and collectively. Jupiter and Chiron together are useful for really pin pointing issues that prevent expansion connected with our core wounding, and being able to move through these more gracefully.

And in amongst all this Pluto moves into Aquarius – this is likley to accelerate once more structural breakdown and reveal more directly the shadow states of this energy through technology. Here is a link to my You Tube channel where I speak specifically about this https://youtu.be/8J5zY0W_FiY
