"Without the creative passion and insight of the individual, life would not only be dull but would probably cease altogether. "

The Rebel

Who is this Archetype?

This archetype is the Rebel. He may be a poet, a lover, a pirate, a mad scientist, or a revolutionary. There is something only he can do, and that is his gift to the world. The Rebel stays resolute to his own truth, and he takes the risk to shake up the system.

Wherever he goes, the Rebel dares to be unique and thereby ignites an individual revolution in others. He shows that without the spontaneous, the unexpected, the dangerous, we simply could not evolve.

This archetype has to know everything for himself.  Crucial to the Rebel’s health is  time alone to think and wait. The insights the Rebel experiences move as a pulse from knowing to not knowing.

Insight has to be allowed to happen in its own time and in its own way. Once it does happen, the Rebel experiences great inner freedom because every insight opens to wider and wider experiences of awareness.

The Rebel has a unique voice inside his head which is always ready to deliver great insights that will constitute a breakthrough capable of making a difference. He receives brilliant flashes of pure knowing that are often a step ahead of what everyone else can make sense. It’s as though his inner ear tunes in to things that others cannot hear. He will block out the knowing of others until they see something in their own way.

He has learnt to wait for the penny to drop before he can make himself heard. The Rebel has a real gift for expressing his thoughts in a novel and creative way. He transforms the rationalized truths of the Inventor (24) into unique perspectives that are ready to be converted into speech codes by the Translator (23).

Positive Attributes:

Achilles Heel:

Fear of rejection

Gene Key Patterns:

Victim of Needing to be Right

Dilemma: Knowing

Repressive Nature:

This repressed aspect is rooted in internal noise, or the human tendency to worry. Worry is based upon the mind going round and round in circles trying to figure out how to escape worry. It pressures us into all kinds of activities that you hope will bring an end to the worry. Of course, once one activity has finished, another worry immediately leaps into the resulting space, thereby perpetuating a very uncomfortable mental loop. All worry is based upon fear. For you it’s the fear of not fitting into the world and of being an outcast. In essence this is a pure fear, but when repressed it becomes a monster that drives you out into the world to try to end the feeling through some kind of external achievement.

From the Gene Keys

 Reactive Nature:

This manifests as external noise or the human tendency to simply keep talking. You do not talk in order to communicate something—you are not in the least bit interested in what anyone else has to say. You are unconsciously trying to deafen yourself from hearing the way you really feel, which is miserable. Added to this, you have a deep need to be accepted and understood by others, and because you are not listening to yourself, you often speak inappropriately or at the wrong time. Thus instead of being accepted, you generally feel misunderstood and are often outright rejected. This dynamic may further increase your fixed viewpoint and make you even more paranoid and angry at being so misunderstood. When taken to the extreme, you can end up feeling so ostracized that you take out your anger either on those closest to you or on society in general.

From the Gene Keys

Questions to Consider:

Do you experience monkey mind? Do you get caught in worry loops? How do you deal with worry?  Are you able to shift out of it? What strategies do you use?

Do you ever feel like an outcast?  A unicorn? What do you do if you don’t feel like you fit in?

Do you have to be right or do you simply know when your creative impulse is inspired?

How do you experience worry? What do you do when you are worried?

Do you ever feel miserable? What happens if you do?

Do you ever find yourself rambling and then feel bad about it because you experience saying the wrong thing at the wrong time?

Do you feel rejected?  Misunderstood?  Ostracized? What was going on when you felt those things? If you do, what do you do when you experience them?  Do you go inside yourself? Do you strike out in anger at those closest to you or society in general?

Do you ever experience melancholy?

Do you honor and respect your uniqueness?

Do you trust your creativity? Your uniqueness?

How do you experience your inner voice?  Do you receive it or resist it? Trust it? Does your inner knowing scare you? Motivate you?  Inspire you? Ground you?

Are you able to express your uniqueness in a way that others can hear? In a novel or creative way?

How do you express your uniqueness?

Does your uniqueness inspire others?

Do you nurture inner calmness?

How do you experience inner calmness? Does it create space in you? Peace? Anxiety? Fear?

When you are experiencing your creative genius, are you in the moment?  Do you forget about the future?

What epiphanies have you had? What did you feel like in your body?

Are you resolute with the truths you know in your body?

When have you risked shaking up the system?

What are you worried most about these days?

Do you obsess over your worries, or drown them out with busyness, or your own talking?

Do you ever feel misunderstood or like a misfit?

How may your need to self-protect be deafening you to others?

What would you do differently if you weren’t afraid of being different?

Have you ever had an epiphany? What was it? How did it come about?

Phone Backgrounds

EMBRACE your shadows. Sometimes our shadows just need attention and love to be transformed. An embrace is a hug. We pull it in; we do not push away. Hug until it blends and transforms inside of you, revealing the GIFT within. The gift is then RELEASED within you and outside of you. You EMBODY the Siddhi when this essence vibrates through your whole being.
