WHO IS THIS ARCHETYPE?

The Tranquil is absorbed in the present moment where he trusts the Divine Order of everything. He assures us that life is in the hands of something far greater than we could ever imagine.

This archetype loves being a neutral witness of what is going on inside and around. Contemplation and the process of pausing, pivoting and merging is the nature of the Tranquil. In the reality of the present, everything that isn’t relevant in the moment disappears.

The Tranquil is the voice that says: I am Now. He can’t anticipate what he is going to say before he says it–the words and actions simply bubble out in the moment. This is a unique voice that can mutate and empower.

The Tranquil has a close relationship with the Natural (10), the Black Panther (34) and the Intuitive (57). These archetypes are all self absorbed and not concerned with how they impact others. They thrive by simply following their own unique and empowered path through life.

The Tranquil is the expression of intuitive awareness of right action. He naturally embodies integrity—doing the right thing even when others aren’t watching. In traditional I Ching, he is the wise king standing on a hill, watching the wind to see which direction it will settle before he takes action. He observes and waits to express its higher insight and perception and then metamorphoses awareness and recognition into action.

Through his heightened awareness, the Tranquil also recognizes the talents and skills of others. He is the great art critic or reviewer, intuitively knowing the purest delivery of awareness and self-expression.

This archetype is like a portal to a holy place, from the maddening to the sacred. The Tranquil shows us the sanctuary where we find ourselves in the present here and now. He brings us back to our body and breath where we can surrender fully.

Everything is and will be alright. The Tranquil plants the right seeds of thought and fertilizes them with faith, trust, and knowingness. We don’t have to chase anything. The right chances materialize, and the right people come together in the process called life.
