WHO IS THIS ARCHETYPE?

Thunder is not only an initiator of others but knows all too well what it is like to be initiated itself. Thunder and Lightning surge through this being and when it is time to act, they strike without haste. It is actually the rumble of thunder that creates enough friction within this being to produce the lightning to shock. It is nothing personal, just a discharge of energy. Others get shocked in the process, but this archetype doesn’t do it FOR the other as much as it does it for itself in its naturalness.

Thunder isn’t afraid of going first, it actually enjoys it. This doesn’t mean this archetype is unafraid. It means that despite the fear and agitation felt within, it surrenders to the electrical currents and allows lightning to strike. This archetype loves to challenge itself to be either best or first at something. From the outside it may look competitive but it’s really about courage to go where no one else dares. Thunder says: if you want to transcend fear, move through it.

This archetype’s life is full of leaps of faith. Thunder must believe in itself and in a higher power guiding it through these series of thunderbolts. Thunder dives into the portal of their agitation and this initiative triggers awakenings big and small. Its leaps into the unknown are always leaps towards the awakening of love and the love of a greater spirit. All leaps take an act of courage and vulnerability. Thunder must awaken to itself and the spark of God within itself.

This archetype is always looking for archetype 25 – Love – a sense of spirit or the feeling of going beyond themselves. Good fortune is inevitable when you trust the love inside of you. The Thunder archetype brings both unpredictability and excitement to life. Thunder has a great knack for creating — as well as handling — surprise.

This archetype is not here to lead you, but to initiate you to a new way of being. It has the amazing gift of empowering others by shocking them out of their own little worlds and into the bigger picture. It’s like a great clap of thunder that acts as an alarm call to make everyone sit up, take note, and get moving. Nothing is quite the same afterward.
